about us:  OUR MISSION
Formed in 1948, the North SLO County Concert Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) association, whose mission is to foster an appreciation of the musical arts by presenting a concert series of a minimum of four professional concerts by national and international artists not, otherwise available in our community. We also provide student outreach programs in local schools by the same artists.

our history: 61 YEARS OLD AND STILL GOING STRONG
In 1948, some residents in the north SLO County realized that live concert performances were not available in the north county. They decided to develop, under the national umbrella of the Community Concert Association, a local association to foster in its area, an appreciation for the musical arts with presentation of four annual professional concerts by national and international artists. Thus, the North SLO County Community Concert Association was formed and supported through an organized subscriber audience plan.

Throughout the first 55 years, the concerts were presented in the Flamson High/Middle School Auditorium in Paso Robles. After the December 2003 earthquake in Paso Robles, the auditorium was subsequently torn down. Fortunately, from February 2004 to May 2006, the First Baptist Church of Paso Robles permitted the Association to rent their Ministry Center so the concerts could continue to be offered. Since September 2006, the Trinity Lutheran Church at 940 Creston Rd. in Paso Robles, has agreed to let us hold our concerts there.

In 2009, after 61 years, there is still a need for this type of professional entertainment, both for the subscribers as well as student outreach programs by the same artists. The Association continues to be run entirely by volunteers, ensuring that all monies collected are being used to provide the concerts and outreach programs. Currently, twenty-two volunteers, including the Officers, Board of Directors and Subscription Workers manage the Association. Its income comes from the yearly series subscriptions, donations from individuals and north county business sponsors, supermarket club partner contributions, and from fundraisers such as recycling ink toner cartridges and annual grapefruit sales.
